Done for Losing Altitude, a collaborative art book project working towards raising the awareness of endangered birds.

About the Tricolored Blackbird, (Agelaius tricolor): I was inspired to paint these birds due to a very similar species, the Red-Winged Blackbird. We have Red-Wings within my favorite nature paths, and I couldn't imagine a summer without their song. So this piece is dedicated to keeping the awareness of this species up, so that the songs of the Tricolored Blackbirds stay strong. The status is Endangered, the main problem being habitat loss. There's a huge danger to these birds when they nest on agricultural lands, as the young are not old enough to leave the nest by the time harvesting comes around. But there's hope - Audubon California has a great project to help out these birds, which you can learn more about here: http://ca.audubon.org/55-birds-0

Prints are done in-house and are put through the artist's quality standards. Each print is done on a high quality ink printer and paper, and come in a protective clear bag with a pH neutral hard back which has the title of the piece on the back. That way, even if you don't get around to mat or frame, you can be sure it will look good and be protected!

Matte Prints: These are vibrant prints, done on archival grade photo paper. The surface is non-reflective, ideal for showcasing details in the art.

Available size is 8.5 x 11 inches.
